With yet another huge year for YELLOWCARD coming to an end, the band has one more gift to fans to end 2012 with a bang. MTV Buzzworthy has premiered the brand new animated video for “Awakening” from their latest album Southern Air (Hopeless Records; released August 14, 2012) on December 10, 2012. You can watch the video here: http://buzzworthy.mtv.com/2012/12/10/yellowcard-awakening-video/

“This our first ever animated video, and it’s the first treatment that I’ve written myself,” says vocalist/guitarist Ryan Key. “We saw an animated OutKast video telling a tour story recently and loved the concept. We did something similar for MTV years ago and used the best tour story we had. So I had to think of something new. I heard a story a long time ago about a band member getting left at a truck stop and having to hitch hike to the next town to make the show. So I wrote Yellowcard into the story. The high five [at the end of the video] rules.”

The video was directed by Atlanta, GA-based designer/illustrator/screenprinter Roy Fleeman (http://royfleeman.com) who has done posters and artwork for bands such as Manchester Orchestra, Fleet Foxes and Zac Brown Band.
