Wreck-It Ralph is a title that the widest possible swath of viewers could appreciate. This all-in aspect of the film and heart-warming tenor of the title makes this a must have for any family or fan of the movie. The fact that the inspiration for the film had been bouncing around the Disney vault for decades is absolutely astonishing, while the quality of the finished film is similarly so. Disney has released a few versions of Wreck-It Ralph, but I feel as if the Ultimate Collector’s Edition is a must-buy.
The Ultimate Collector’s Edition contains four versions of the film (Blu-Ray 3D, Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Copy), along with an incredible amount of extra features. The video quality of the Blu-Ray 3D copy of Wreck-It Ralph is absolutely stellar and parallels the experience that was had during the initial theatrical run of the title. Paperman, the mini-feature that preceded Wreck-It Ralph in theatres, is included here; the Bit by Bit featurette is absolutely vital to understand the sheer amount of work that went into the creation of the film. There are a set of commercials for the video games that were shown in the movie, while Chris Hardwick breaks down some of the more nuanced jokes that were present in the film.
The Ultimate Collectors’ Edition of Wreck-It Ralph can be purchased at any store that has an active video section, but intrepid individuals can easily find copies of the title online for well below retail price. Wreck-It Ralph is one of the best animated features since Toy Store, and Disney’s handling of the transfer over to the home video format showcases this perfectly. Check it out today.
