Strawberry Harvest is the latest effort by Abita Brewing Company, and it has dropped down at the perfect time. As the weather continues to become warmer, this lager will be perfect for any party or get-together. What I personally like about the Strawberry Harvest is the nuanced flavor that it has. While there is a smoothness to the beer, the effervescence present makes for a crisp and refreshing experience. A light head will await imbibers, while the strawberries will come into focus soon after.

What separates Abita’s Strawberry Harvest from the rest of the fruit-flavored and infused beers is the inclusion of actual strawberries into the effort. I feel that the realism inherent with this beer will be its biggest draw. While countless beers uses artificial fruit flavorings, the slight tartness of the strawberries here make this a perfect palette cleanser for any sort of chicken or fish dishes. The lack of bite (as would be present in a hoppy beer) allows this mild fruit aspect to shine through. Abita has created one of the best fruit-tinged beers that we have had the opportunity to review at NeuFutur Magazine.

Check out the Abita website for more information about the brewery, the rest of their line, and the seasonal efforts that they will be releasing. The Strawberry Harvest is only available for a limited time, so make sure to check your local beer store to see if you can pick up a six pack.
