Praise for DAVE STEWART’s 2013 album
LUCKY NUMBERS
:

“This tale [‘One Step Too Far’] of a doomed man on the run, from the new Lucky Numbers, captures all that’s satisfying about Americana.”
–Jerry Shriver, USA TODAY, October 8, 2013

“The track [‘Every Single Night’] finds Stewart chronicling romantic turmoil and redemption (‘When we were young, not so invincible, I took every blow/But it hurt so much, I got shell-shocked; recovery was slow’) over a smooth soft-rock groove and soulful backing vocals from country belter Martina McBride.”
–Ryan Reed, ROLLINGSTONE.COM, August 20, 2013

“…It’s lined with well-crafted songs littered with familiar melodic signposts from country, rock, and blues, and played with exemplary élan by the core group of Nashville musicians that graced the previous two records. It’s all so impeccably held together by the ringmaster himself, you can almost smell the camaraderie that wafts through the 12-song set.”
–Tony Hardy, CONSEQUENCEOFSOUND.NET, October 9, 2013

“…amazing solo album…Stewart opens his soul and hits the listener with song after song of emotional brilliance.  ‘Drugs Taught Me a Lesson’ is one of the best songs he has ever written, it is so open, honest and in a sick way, kinda funny, although the guy is being honest here.  There is something about ruining our lives that can make a person smile sometimes. On ‘You and I’ the emotion is so thick that one literally is swept away in feelings, positive and negative, current and nostalgic.  ‘What is Wrong with Me?’ is another lesson in downright honest songwriting that will make the listener begins to reflect on his or her own shortcomings.  At the end of the day, Dave Stewart is a brilliant songwriter and this album deserves to be heard.”
–Jeb Wright, CLASSICROCKREVISITED.COM, October 8, 2013

“…an absolutely outstanding follow-up to both last year’s ‘The Ringmaster General’ and 2011′s The Blackbird Diaries. .With Lucky Numbers Stewart flawless blends together a style that includes elements of both country and rock, but with his own very unique flair.”
