With the Oct. 29 release of new album “Serpents Unleashed” just around the corner, blackened metal quintet SKELETONWITCH have unveiled the fourth in a series of behind-the-scenes videos about the recording process. In this edition, drummer Dustin Boltjes and guitarist Nate Garnette discuss some of their favorite songs from the album, including two tracks — “Beneath Dead Leaves” and “This Evil Embrace” — that, until now, have yet to be heard publicly. Check out samples of those two songs now at this location or in the video above.

In other SKELETONWITCH news, $100 record store shopping sprees aren’t the only “Serpents Unleashed” giveaways taking place right now, as the group has teamed with Blackstar Amplification to host a contest for a signed ID:15 guitar amplifier. “Serpents Unleashed,” which Decibel hails as SKELETONWITCH’s “best effort to date,” is available now for pre-order at SKELETONWITCH.com in a variety of formats, including limited-edition clear vinyl (which includes a poster featuring the album’s artwork by Baroness’ John Baizley), a 7-inch collector’s box set and audio cassette. Meanwhile, digital pre-orders for the album at Bandcamp and iTunes include an instant download of the song “I Am Of Death (Hell Has Arrived),” the vintage horror movie-themed music video for which premiered last month.

Having just completed a second round of dates supporting Swedish occult rockers Ghost B.C., SKELETONWITCH will next perform a record release show in their Athens, Ohio hometown on Oct. 23. The following night, the band will kick off an extensive North American tour with The Black Dahlia Murder.
