With the release of their new single “It Can’t Be Simple” via Stereogum, Secret Colours announce two releases due out next year in the form of Positive Distractions Part I and Positive Distractions Part II. “It Can’t Be Simple” could easily be looked at as the song that manifests the maturation process of a band finally finding their voice. Having recorded both debut Secret Colours (2010) and sophomore release Peach (2013) as a larger, sometimes 6-piece group, the band has now emerged as a leaner, meaner 4-piece that just recently returned to their hometown of Chicago after finishing the double EP release with producer Dan Duszunki in Texas.

Positive Distraction Part I will be released digitally on February 4, 2014 with Positive Distractions Part II being released digitally on April 29, 2014 to mark Secret Colours return to Texas for 2014’s Austin Psych Fest. Positive Distractions Part I & Part II’s combined physical incarnation will be released on vinyl and cassette on April 29, 2014.
