Mark Chao (Dee Renjie) and Carina Lau (Wu Zetian) step into their previous role, while the cast is further bolstered through the inclusion of Feng Shaofeng, Lin Gengxin, and Kim Bum into the mix. Rise of the Sea Dragon sets up Renjie’s assumption of the titular role. On eir initial job, Renjie has to examine an odd occurrence – a sea monster is causing havoc throughout the Imperial Capital. As the film continues, Renjie is locked up in prison. It takes all of Renjie’s ability, but ey is able to receive eir freedom and solve the case. The tension and action that is present in Rise of the Sea Dragon will have viewers on the edges of their seats, while the film’s pacing ensures that the story is properly fleshed out.
