We have not reviewed many web series because the quality of the average show is so spotty. The Louise Log is a show that relies on the situational comedy of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Each clip (we are reviewing “How To Get What You Want”, Episode #36) allows for a further expansion of the motivations and desires of the main characters while allowing the humor to shine through early and often.

The only drawback that can be remedied in future episodes of The Louise Log would be providing a more cluttered, worn-in feeling to the in-house scenes. The crew has done a tremendous job in framing shots and giving viewers a number of visual distractions, but there are a few scenes during episode 36 that have a lot of white space. I personally dig the sheer amount fo characters that are present in this episode. Where the dialog between two or three individuals can get a little on the repetitive side, the ability of The Louise Show to continually change of that dynamic will ensure that viewers will continually be coming back for more.

The video quality of the series is very crisp, easily paralleling The Whitest Kids U’Know. The audio quality is heads and shoulders above typical Youtube fare, while the series utilizes both overt and covert forms of humor. As such, the show could easily be placed onto rotation on an IFC, Ion, or THIS TV station. This comedy will be appreciated by fans of class and current comedies; The Louise Log updates with a new episode on the last Thursday of each month.

Rating: 8.6/10
