Jolly Pumpkin’s Bam Noire is a beer that looks to expand imbibers’ minds regarding the farmhouse ale style. The effort pours with a reddish-brown color, yielding a decently robust off-white / tannish head.

The nose that presents itself alludes to yeasts, tart fruits, and grapes; an initial sip of Bam Noire is sour, relying on cherry, apple, and peaches to set things off. After this initial array of flavors, oak, raisin, and caramel become more prevalent. The lower ABV of Bam Noire (4.3%) and overall effervescence ensures that this is a great springtime beer.  The slight sour and tart notes makes this effort utterly unforgettable, while the distinct collection of flavors accessible here will have imbibers coming back for more.  Aficionados of the saison, sour, and lighter Belgian beers will like Bam Noire, and the overall approachability of the beer ensures that even newcomers will enjoy it.

Visit the Jolly Pumpkin website for more information about their seasonal and year-round efforts and information regarding those that would like to visit the brewery directly.
