Maudlin Strangers is the Los Angeles based solo project of Jake Hays, a multi instrumentalist/vocalist, who tracked, engineered, and produced his forthcoming Overdose EP all from his bedroom in Agoura Hills, CA. Hays creates haunting musical soundscapes of dark indie pop that will keep you wanting more.

The EP title track “Overdose” was released earlier this year to rave reviews. Hilly Dilly claimed, ’Overdose has the foundations of a radio-hit with its catchy hooks, expansive production, and anthemic vocal delivery… A&R’s, take note,” while When The Gramophone said the track, “immediately impresses with it’s tight production, dreamy flow of lyrics and sounds that mix in all the right places.”

Most recently, prolific producer Bass Science got his hands on the buzz single and created a brilliant blend of electro indie flare. Earmilk premiered the track and raved, “Though the two styles are radically different, Strangers and Science meet at an interesting half way point. It’s just enough of an electronic and indie blend, as Science keeps enough of the original to give indie and electronic fans something to get down with, regardless if you’re on a late evening drive or at your favourite festival.” Listen to the remix here.
Maudlin Strangers’ highly anticipated debut Overdose EP is coming this summer.
