Green Head IPA pours with a very dark amber / orange coloration, and a small amount of long-lasting, persistent tannish head.  There is a strong hop nose to the beer, while the initial sip yields a decent amount of bitterness and a sweetness at the end. The 7.2% ABV of the beer is hidden well with the bold flavors and thirst-quenching aspects of the beer. Strong grapefruit, pine, and citrus elements maintain their presence through the beer, while the beer’s creamy body allow for a continual refreshing of the specific constellation of flavors with subsequent sips. Lacing is visible as one continues to drink the Green Head IPA.NBPT-Brewing_GreenHeadIPA-LABEL-CORRECTED2-e1351830009729-200x200

I feel that the consistency of the beer is what will have me coming back for it; one is given a very cogent and coherent flavor profile with this effort, which does not break down as the beer continues to warm up. With each sip as good as the last, Green Head is an IPA that will titillate long-term fans of the style. The bold flavors here showcase this as a real IPA, staying as far away from the session IPA style as possible.
