Caldera has created an IPA that pours with a brownish-orange and possesses a nose that does not provide much of an indication where the beer will ultimately take imbibers. The initial sip will fill in some of these gaps, with light amount of floral notes and a bold hop element. There is a smaller amount of sweetness that can be discerned towards the end of each sip. As Caldera’s IPA continues to warm, there is more of a malt element that becomes prevalent.

With these difference elements coming into play, individuals will be able to stay interested from beginning to end. The 6.1% ABV of the beer is hidden perfectly by the bold hop and malt presence here, making the Caldera IPA into something that would work equally well with fish, chicken, or strong-flavored beef and lamb dishes. The beer would be perfect to drink around a campfire or as a refreshment after a long day’s worth of chores. For those experienced hands in India Pale Ales, there is enough in the way of a hop bomb that will wallop one immediately after cracking a can. For those that find themselves more of a fan of alternative styles (German efforts like kolschs or red ales), there is enough nuance present in Caldera’s IPAS
