Jenny Lake Lager by Jackson Hole, Wyoming’s Snake River Brewing pours with a mahogany / reddish-brown color and a thick, frothy off-white head. Lacing is present in droves and will demarcate precisely how far an individual has gotten in the effort.

5564e52ca795f.imageSnake River’s take on a Vienna style lager is refreshing and will work admirably alongside stronger-flavored meats (sausages, beef, lamb) or with a number of foreign fares (Italian, Mexican). Jenny Lake Lager has a little bit of sweetness and a small amount of malt making their appearances in each sip. When compared to macrobrewery lagers, Jenny Lake Lager succeeds in all senses – there is a richness of flavors and the brew goes down smoothly. The miniscule amount of bitter at the end of each sip sets things up nicely for additional pulls, granting a whole new take on the effort. We were particularly pleased by how well Jenny Lake Lager holds up as it reaches room temperatures. The overall flavor profile shifts to a slightly sweeter and more grain-focused side after fifteen or twenty minutes, showcasing a wholly different side to the beer.

The low ABV of Jenny Lake Lager (4.8% ABV) makes it extremely easy to throw a few back around a fire or at a get-together, while the bevy of flavors here ensure that imbibers will stay interested from the beginning to the end of their session. Visit the Snake River Brewing website for additional information about the brewery’s year-round and seasonal efforts. We’ll be covering Snake River’s Pale Ale in the next few weeks.
