Chart-topping duo Icona Pop premiered a brand new track today titled “First Time”.
The track comes a day before the official release of their forthcoming “Emergency” EP, which drops tomorrow via Record Company TEN/Big Beat/Atlantic Records in North America on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and Google Play.
“First Time” was the first ever track the duo wrote together when they first met back in 2012. It wasn’t until recently when they entered the studio with Ricky Reed that they decided to dust the cobwebs off and give the track a new lease of life. “The song has a whole new meaning to it now, looking back and reflecting on how far we’ve come since those early days when we were broke and didn’t have a clue what we were doing or where we were going!” says Aino Jawo. “It’s such a special song to us and really is a celebration of friendship, whether it’s with your boyfriend or girlfriend or best friend. We just wanted to capture that feeling again in a song and remind ourselves how important it is to never forget those special early days when you first meet someone” continues Caroline Hjelt.
Earlier this summer, Icona Pop released their official song “Emergency” which is now available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and Google Play. Watch the official video for “Emergency” here.
