No matter what you vape, there are numerous benefits of vaping over smoking. By this point in time, most people know that a great number of the health-related dangers of smoking are due to the toxins that result from combustion of the plant, be it tobacco or some other dried herb. But, what exactly are these benefits that we are always hearing about? If you are looking to buy a dry herb vaporizer, you will want to know exactly what these benefits are before making your final decision.

Start with the Known Dangers of Smoking

The first thing you should do when deciding whether or not to dabble in the art of vaping is to familiarize yourself with the dangers of smoking. The reason for this is because most, if not all, of the dangers inherent in smoking are due to the release of toxic chemicals when the plant matter is heated to a high enough temperature to burn.

According to the National Library of Medicine of the National Institutes of Medicine, the number one danger inherent in smoking is something referred to as PAH, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons that attach themselves to tissue within the lungs. The concentration of PAH within these tissues can indicate the risk factor for developing cancer and obviously, the higher the concentration, the more likely smoking can result in some form of cancer.

Benefits Dependent upon the Plant Matter Being Vaped

The first thing novice vapers will need to learn is that each type of plant offers a wide variety of benefits above and beyond those inherent in vaping over smoking. For example, vaping chamomile (commonly ingested in teas) would not only be a lack of carcinogens within the vapor but also the benefit of being a relaxing herb. With each and every dry herb you choose to vape, there will be benefits akin to other methods of ingesting that plant, the only difference being the method of delivery.

A Very Few of the Benefits of Vaping over Smoking

Most smokers have already thought about the obvious benefits of vaping plants like tobacco over lighting up and smoking them. These would include:

  • No tar
  • No second-hand smoke
  • No messy ashes
  • No carbon monoxide
  • No lighters, matches or fires
  • No lead
  • No cyanide
  • No collection of nasty cigarette butts lying around
  • No obnoxious odors

And those are just a very few of the most obvious benefits to vaping over smoking! But what about the less obvious benefits? Have you considered that when vaping you can:

  • Customize flavors
  • Safely vape in bed
  • Reduce toxic waste (cigarette butts which usually are not biodegradable)
  • Save money
  • Safely vape in the presence of children (where vaping is allowed by law)

And, here again, these are just a sampling of the benefits of vaping as opposed to smoking. It should be mentioned that the jury is still out on whether or not vaping can be utilized as a smoking cessation aid but many have been successful in their endeavors. Since the FDA has yet to definitively rule one way or the other, this cannot legally be listed as a benefit. However, that day may come sooner than you think. Until then, let’s list ‘smoking cessation aid’ as a ‘potential benefit’ and that should satisfy even the most diehard critics.

With all this said – happy vaping!
