English DJ Shift K3Y joins Born Dirty on their Dim Mak debut with “Misbehave,” a retro house track that subverts the genre with a smattering of N64 inspired synths and catchy rap lyrics. The track plays off all these seemingly incongruous elements to create the perfect party tune.

Now, the bouncy, flirty, can’t-get-it-out-of-your-head (and don’t want to) tune from Shift K3Y and Born Dirty, has been reworked by Panic City, Diamond Pistols and Linden Jay for an exclusive three-part remix package. Panic City, an artist who has secured a “Trending Artist Of The Week” pick by Pete Tong for his Evolution Beatport show and virally buzzed official remixes for industry titans including Diplo, Crookers, and Tove Lo,” accentuates “Misbehave’s” deepest elements, further enriching it with a steamy hip-hop flare. After reveling in a heavily hyped bootleg of Ace Hood hit “Bugatti,” and a #1 Beatport charting debut with dubstep anthem “Wildstyle,” production wizard Diamond Pistols joins the “Misbehave” remix squad with a refreshing spin that hears the young-gun utilize a dramatic bassline more resonant of the electronic, melodic trap style. Linden Jay’s approach is simultaneously minimal and intricate – he strips down the original to greater emphasize the vocals, then rebuilds it with genre-defying embellishments.

ABOUT SHIFT K3Y

His debut single ‘Touch,’ released via Columbia UK, landed the then 20-year-old a #3 charting track on the UK pop charts. Since then, he has remixed Iggy Azalea and Tinie Tempah, and hit the studio with Chaka Khan and Robin Thicke for his upcoming LP. Shift truly represents a new chapter in electronic music. As a vocalist, producer, DJ performer, and instrumentalist, Shift K3Y is the whole package. Despite his young age, Shift’s wisdom and knowledge on the history of music, and penchant for infusing old-school flavor into this music is truly remarkable.

ABOUT BORN DIRTY

Having already established themselves as trend setters with their individual projects, the team up of Linden Jay and Song Of Kick on Born Dirty is proving a force to be reckoned with. While still in the early days of the project, Born Dirty has already lit the dance world ablaze with their viral link up with vocalist Kid Sister on their debut release “Don’t Stop Get It.” Out via Skrillex’s Nest HQ imprint, “Don’t Stop Get It” is the world’s first introduction to Born Dirty’s garage and UK bass music fusion. Stay tuned for more to come.
