Sophia Pfister is looking to introduce the world to her own unique form of music with the release of her new (and eponymous) EP. This five-song effort was captured at Studio City Sound (owned by Tom Weir, who has recorded Blondie, Ryan Adams, Weezer, and Steve Martin) and can be appreciated on its own or through any of Pfister’s other pursuits. The sheer depth of Pfister’s life experience is considerable when one learns that she is 23.

Whether it is written poetry, spoken word, or just delving into Pfister’s backstory, individuals will be able to appreciate the tack taken by this multi-skilled performer. Skilled in banjo, dulcimer, and song-writing, it is no surprise that Pfister’s musical compositions hold a rare cohesion both when one enjoys a single or the entirety of the release. The blend of singer-songwriter, folk, and rock styles creates something that is familiar but bubbles with a newness that is rare in current music.
