Pecker Wrecker is a seasonal offering from Texas’ Rahr & Sons’ brewery. The beer pours with a good amount of off-white head that sticks around for a good amount of time; Pecker Wrecker pours with a dark yellow to golden coloration. The nose showcases malt and sweeter elements, two tastes that come forth at various points during the body.pecker_wrecker Rahr & Sons’ latest is a downright dangerous effort, hiding the This is a heady, intense beer that redefines what an imperial pilsner can do; possessing a tremendously steady backbone, imbibers will be assured that the flavors and tastes which they experience at the beginning of the beer will make their presence known at the end.

Along the way, there are a few other twists and turns that Pecker Wrecker hits one with; hops bubble through at points to provide further depth with floral and grassy elements. There are some fruit elements (peaches, citrus) that can be discerned here, making for something that continually shifts and changes with each subsequent sip. Pecker Wrecker would be a great pairing with burgers, brats, and any sort of cuisine that has a stronger flavor profile (e.g. Vietnamese, Indian). The beer resembles pilsners in a fashion that those that have only experienced macrobrewery efforts can find something to appreciate, but has a deep and intense resting enough set of flavors that those long-time fans of hoppier or maltier beers can dig.

Pecker Wrecker is available in 22 ounce bombers for a limited time. Visit the Rahr & Sons website for more information about the brewery and their year round and seasonal efforts. We have covered a number of Rahr & Sons efforts in the past, including Bucking Bock,  Visionary and  Summertime Wheat earlier this year.
