On our trip down to the Columbus area we were able to drive on Interstate 76 until we got to the exit immediately before its terminus with Interstate 71. We decided to get off the road and get into a restaurant. We found a rarity around this part, a franchise of the storied Huddle House chain. Huddle House is for those uninitiated a restaurant with hundreds of locations available through the south and the West United States. This restaurant is a to the point sort of joint, a diner that blends traditional American dishes with just  enough zing and pizzazz to keep customers coming back for more. We picked up a few entrees to see exactly what the fuss was about, including an effort from their current promotion, the steak tips line.12821344_10104089981885544_7836730065312277227_n

The Prime Rib Tips Dinner ($8.99) are included into a number of distinct dishes, and are delightful when cooked with a blend of mushrooms and onions. The dish comes with two side plates; we decided upon the salad and the sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries possess a bit of sweetness when compared to traditional russet or other white potato fries. The Texas toast was just right in that it did not derivate too much from typical conceptions of the plate, navigating between butter and crispness just right.12512284_10104089981955404_847253674365272496_n

The wife bought the Smoked Sausage Breakfast Platter, providing her with two full sized links that were split open to provide the greatest amount of surface area and crispiness. While scrambled eggs are a staple of diner food it becomes hard sometimes when a line cook is slammed, finishing plate after plate in rapid success to get these eggs right. These eggs were the perfect blend of juicy and firm. The strawberry waffle had the succulent and crispy dichotomy down well providing one with a fulfilling and tasty experience; the included strawberry preserves add an additional level of complexity with equal amounts of tart and sweet.Huddle House (Seville Ohio)/

The crew exhibited tremendous grace under pressure, visiting each table a number of times while bringing out food with only a few minute wait. Drinks were refilled while our server was friendly and helpful. Our experience with Huddle House was uniformly positive; the next time you see one of their locations on a trip, take a quick pit-stop.
