Icarus Offer Lane 8 Remix of "Home" feat. Aurora

Following the recent release of “Home,” which was named Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World, Icarus have followed up the track with a fresh remix from Lane 8. Featuring the ethereal vocals of Norwegian dream-pop artist Aurora, the Lane 8 remix of “Home” finds the Icarus brothers delivering an expansive and lush melody within a beat-driven, cinematic soundscape. Freshly circulated on the airwaves today via Annie Mac and Pete Tong, this tune is the first in a string of remixes set for release later this month.

For the Bristol duo, “Home” arises after the impact made from their first two releases on Pete Tong’s renowned FFRR label, the Don’t Cry Wolf EP and “Ride This Train.” “Home” made the prestigious BBC Radio 1 In New Music We Trust playlist, and was BBC Radio 1 Dance Chart #1 for 3 weeks (following up the number #1’s of “Ride This Train” and “Cassia” (from the Don’t Cry Wolf EP). Off the back of Radio 1 and 1xtra support from Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Monki, and more, Icarus also recently concluded their first UK tour last year with highlights including Fabric, the Warehouse Project in Manchester and Creamfields.

Icarus’ first track “All Night” set the standard as a sublime moment of deep house which pushed its laidback grooves in unexpected directions. The next three Icarus recordings soon followed. Now, on one hand Icarus can create a pure club-orientated rush, but the core strength that’s innate throughout their emerging body of work is their ability to create songs with the immediacy to capture a mainstream audience without losing the essence of their grounding in club culture. Often Icarus’s productions reach beyond the obvious – they have a predilection for crafting darker atmospheres and occasionally delve into more progressive realms – but that immediacy strikes at the heart of the majority of their work.

Having recently released a full length artist album Rise on Anjunadeep, Lane 8 crafts music that translates just as well to private headphone listening as it does to a heaving dancefloor. With multiple HypeM topping releases as well as regular support from Pete Tong, Annie Mac and more via BBC Radio 1, Lane 8 skillfully toes the line between indie and mainstream, while still staying true to his deep house roots.
