The number of tents that are on the market is nothing less than amazing – there are tents for all activities, hold all sorts of individuals, and can be put up in a variety of ways. However, there is a wide array of quality to be had with these different tents, but we have found one that is a solid buy. The Drifter 3, a three-person tent from Mountain Hardwear, is that tent. When one picks up the Drifter 3 box, they will be shocked by the lightness of the tent – it weighs a hair less than two pounds. Despite the lack of weight, there is a sturdiness present in all sides of the tent. The poles used – Press-fit 7001s – along with the polyester that is used at points during the tent give the product its low weight but also a tremendous amount of stability.

The vestibule of the Drifter 3 (clocking in at 10 sq ft) will allow campers to stash their goods in the tent, while the 83×88 floor size will give ample room for three adults. For those hikers that may not be too familiar with pitching a tent, the color-coded pole / grommet system will ensure that the tent will be up in only a few minutes. Equally strong no matter the weather, the Drifter 3 is a tent that works perfectly in all warmer climates, allowing for good ventilation along with solid protection from any storms that may pop up.

With a MSRP of $195 and a solid enough construction to service an individual or small family for a number of years, one should look into purchasing a Drifter 3 whenever they need a tent.
