Devil Eyes is the first track from the new EP “Put Me On” by Colorado band One Way Ride. This type of blues-rock blends together hints of KONGOS and Alabama 3. The dynamic between the male and female vocal pushes each to a higher plateau, while the drums and guitars make for a dense instrumentation.
Lie to Me has the stripped-down rock style of bands like Gudger and Every Mother’s Nightmare. The straightforward guitar chugs along, building upon the framework laid down by AC/DC. Waiting is an interesting shift is momentum; this slower track brings forth tremendous passion and sparkling instrumental arrangements. There is a certain sort of gravitas that will resound loudly with listeners long after the track has ceased.

1100 Miles has One Way Ride further stretching their wings; hints of psychedelic rock make their way into this track. The band is able to create something that is considerably different than what has been heard up to this point while including the same attention to detail. Someday Soon is an effort that could garner rock rotation. The brooding dual-part harmony that slows things down at points allows the band to kick back into the hard rock style with additional oomph.

Under Your Spell is an epic track that possesses an engrossing narrative, a deliberate and heavy instrumentation, and numerous forays into blues and psychedelic styles. While the track weighs in at a bit above four minutes, there is a huge sound to the composition that will permanently imprint itself into the hearts of listeners. The band is taut as all get out; with each element working together to create something special, Under Your Spell is a sick effort that matches any track from the first efforts on Put Me On.
