HEIRSOUND “Choke”

The instrumental-heavy opening to “Choke” showcases the technical skill of HEIRSOUND. Stakes are raised when the back and forth of the band’s vocals interact with a deliberate arrangement to make for something dark, brooding, and tremendously emotive.  The track is able to create a specific environment for listeners to delve into, a feat made all the more amazing when one considers the track does not reach the three-minute mark. HEIRSOUND is able to update the style of late nineties / early oughts acts like The Appleseed Cast and At The Drive-In, making something heavy and heady in a neat package; our favorite of what we’ve heard from the Merge EP.
