Arcade Fire - The Reflektor Tapes (DVD)

Arcade Fire has been an enigma ever since 2004’s brilliant Springsteen-influenced “Funeral” brought the Montreal band global attention. Their refusal to stay in one musical place too long, incorporating a more dance-heavy vibe on later albums and the invitation for crowds to dress in costumes or formal attire for their concerts, just continued to puzzle many and thrill even more. All that being said, don’t expect “The Reflektor Tapes” to answer many of the questions you may have about the band. What it is though is a visually-impressive doc about the making of the band’s 2013 album “Reflektor.” Filmmakers Kahlil Joseph tracked the band throughout Canada New York and beyond, capturing a group that was trying to get out of their comfort zone to make a different record.  There are also some amazing live shots of the band playing at venues across the globe.

The documentary is also paired with a second DVD, “Live At Earl’s Court,” recorded at the London venue during the band’s 2014 tour.
