Roy Cohen’s Take Off (featuring K.O) is a track that builds off of the late-nineties female pop scene while having an intense dance beat that equally touches upon nineties house and today’s EDM. The rising and falling of the instrumentation vis-a-vis the vocals keeps Take Off hurtling along at a quick clip. The arrangements have their main goal as keeping fans on the dance floor, but I feel that there is a greater complexity to be had here. The call back to the eighties dance of Depeche Mode and Dead Or Alive is a nice homage, sounding fresh and new as Roy Cohen is putting his final touches on the song.
