Zander Bleck’s “Alive” is an epic track. Bleck’s vocals resound loudly over an emotionally intense track that brings in hints of goth and Joshua Tree-era U2. With a harmony that is hard to top, Alive is truly timeless. The careful instrumentation that comprises the backbone of the track stands up to repeat plays. The dynamic between guitar/drum and guitar/vocals are stunning; chiaroscuro (dark/light) is used to great effect here. We were not familiar with Zander Bleck before listening to Alive, but we’re going to have to focus on him a bit more. Alive is a track that can easily crossover between pop and rock stations.
