Call to Arms Brewing Company will tap and release Majestic Wolf Lamp, an oak-aged blended Belgian sour with blackcurrants on Thursday, February 1st starting at 3:00 p.m. in their taproom (4526 Tennyson St, Denver, Colorado 80212). This is the brewery’s most exciting barrel-aged beer to date.

“In the past, we’ve made blended sours and wild ales that were good but we’ve never been this excited about one.” said Chris Bell, owner and co-founder of Call to Arms Brewing Company. “We were able to revisit these beers and experiment with the addition of blackcurrants to create an interesting and complex sour that can stand on its own.”
At 8 percent ABV (alcohol by volume), this magenta hued sour is a jammy blend offering complex notes of boysenberry, blackcurrant, candied cherry and gentle oak that results in a pronounced sour finish with a slight sweetness. Majestic Wolf Lamp, which pays homage to the wolf lamp scene in the movie Step Brothers, is reminiscent of farm stand blackberry jam.
This limited quantity sour will be available in 375 ml bottles and on draft at the brewery starting on February 1st. Only 125 bottles will be released with a purchasing limit of two bottles per person. Bottles will retail for $12. To celebrate the momentous occasion, Call to Arms has designed branded Teku glasses. These glasses will be available for purchase at $10.
“If you like sours, it’s a must have,” said Bell. “It’s probably one of the best beers we have ever brewed.”
