Five Outstanding Florida Attractions Worth Driving
Don’t let the fact that you just passed your Florida driving test stop you from enjoying everything there is to do in the Sunshine State. Once you get your license, you will have easy access to some of the country’s best attractions.
Sarasota. Pack up the car head to this unique Gulf city for a family vacation to remember. It is a quick drive on the I-75 before turning north to take in the beauty of the coast. Within a few hours, you will arrive in the city of Sarasota. Once you get into town, check in at one of the bay-side hotels for stunning views or choose a hotel downtown for quick access to all the cultural and dining options the city offers. Wherever you stay, make sure you don’t miss out on Siesta Beach on Siesta Key. It is known as one of the finest white-sand beaches in the world.
Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Take the Sanibel Causeway which is accessible from I-75 to Sanibel Island. You can stay on this lush island or continue to Captiva Island by an interconnecting bridge to enjoy the luxury of one of the island’s relaxing resorts. Be sure to make time to enjoy a breathtaking sunset from Alison Hagerup Beach Park or book one of a sunset cruise. Leave time to explore the almost 7,000-acre J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. It is the perfect spot for kayaking and birdwatching.
Miami. For those who are drawn to art and culture, there is no better city in Florida than Miami. Set the cruise control, turn on some great tunes and drive south on I-95. The city is impossible to miss. Whether you want to check out the bars, beaches or art galleries, there is truly something for everyone in the Magic City. Miami offers a plethora of lodging opportunities, but the best ones are often booked far in advance. It is a smart idea to make sure you book your accommodations before arriving to avoid being disappointed. While the Miami nightlife is tempting, try to get back to get plenty of rest to enjoy all the daytime activities the city offers.
St. Petersburg. Just across the bay from Tampa on I-275 lies St. Petersburg. The city has a much more relaxed feeling than Tampa and boasts some of the best beer breweries in the country. Beer lovers won’t want to miss the St. Pete’s / Clearwater Craft Beer Trail where visitors can sample beer and pick up some hard-to-find brews. Not into beer? That is okay. The city has a very active art scene to explore and is well-known for the Second Saturday Art Walk along Central Ave.
Walt Disney World. If you have children, no road trip in Florida is complete without a visit to Walt Disney World. Even if you aren’t bringing any kids, a weekend at Walt Disney World is still a pretty cool experience. Don’t forget to visit all the theme parks including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the newest attraction, Pandora, The World of Avatar. Make sure to book your hotel room and park tickets before arriving.
When you are planning your move, you’ll probably find it hard to know how to organise your belongings and you’ll also find it hard to really make sure that everything is packed up safely as well. For this reason, it helps to start with a list of the items that you need to pack up, for example, how many kitchen supplies you have and even how much cutlery you have. This way you can plan out how many boxes you need while also finding out if you have any fragile items that need some extra protection.
The best thing about moving boxes is that they tend to be the same size. This is great because it means that they can be stacked easily and it also means that you can count on them to support the same amount of weight. You won’t have to worry about a box falling through and you won’t have to choose between more secure/less secure boxes. If you have heavy appliances or a vacuum cleaner then it’s a good idea for you to put them back in their original boxes, if you have them. If you don’t then try and improvise and use other boxes to try and get your packing done.
Your Moving Company
Hiring a moving company is a must when you are packing up your home. They can save you so much time and they can even save you money as well. Companies such as Bekins Moving Solutions are ideal for this and they can guide you throughout the entire process without any difficulty at all. They can even talk to you about how easy it is for you to get the whole move done in one trip and they can offer you packing advice as well. Just make sure that the company you choose is fully insured before you hire their services.
If you know that you don’t need to take a lot of your items with you, then why do it? It helps to have a good clear-out at this time and it also helps to throw away anything that you don’t need. You may want to get rid of the things that you don’t use and you may also want to try and put the items that you’ll need in your first couple of nights to one side. This includes a spare toothbrush, toothpaste and even your clothes for work.
Don’t Move Items
If you have a box that you don’t want your moving company to take care of then make sure that you label this. This box could be full of things for your kids to do during a long-distance move or it could be things that you need for work over the next couple of days. You may also want to put incredibly sentimental items or even fragile items in this box as well because even though your moving company will be insured, some items can’t be replaced and this is something that you need to keep in mind.

If you’re into MMOs, then you’re in for a very happy 2018 because there are so many great new titles set to be released.
If you thought that games like Final Fantasy 15 and Elder Scrolls Online were great, then you haven’t seen anything yet. Check out these 2018 titles that should be on your watch list, and which most certainly need to be on your playlist as and when they’re released too:
Ashes of Creation
Ashes of Creation is a fantasy MMO which has gained a lot of traction on Kickstarter. The alpha zero testing period for the game, which is all about building a small rural village into a thriving metropolis, with lots of PvP wars thrown into the mix, began in 2017 and it has already generated a buzz that makes it one to watch when it is eventually released (hopefully) later this year.
Another fantasy MMO, Bless Online is one of the most beautiful titles on this list. The worlds you can explore are so beautifully rendered that you’ll want to spend endless amounts of time in them, exploring various dungeons, raiding fields and taming terrifying monsters. It’ll be a blast, so let’s hope that it’s release date isn’t too far away.
Ascent: Infinite Realm
If you’re into steampunk, you’re going to want to keep a keen eye on this beautiful steampunk MMO, which is absolutely stunning to look at. I mean, just look at the airships – they’re beautiful. As well as having control of your own airships, you’ll have jetpacks, dragons, magic and even floating rocks at your disposal. This is one to really get lost in.
Wild West Online
Ever had fantasies of being a cowboy in the Wild West? You’ll want to get in on this game (if you can) which is kind of like Red Dead Redemption set in a much bigger world, where you can interact with other desperados in a surprisingly realistic rendering of the Old West.
Camelot Unchained is a fantasy MMO that borrows heavily from the mythologies of the Arthurian legends, Norse mythology and the mythology of Ireland, so it’s fair to say that it will be a pretty interesting play, not least because its worlds will be largely created by the users and it’s set in a post-apocalyptic world where the veil between the normal world and the world of magic has been pierced!
Legends of Aria
Tipped as the spiritual successor to Ultima Online, Legends of Aria is a Moddable sandbox game where you must use your skill and cunning to hone your skills if you want to make any progress at all. You can play as a crafter, fisherman, adventurer or merchant, so there is lots to do, it’s just a matter of waiting for the final Beta release to become available.
If you try out any of these MMOs in 2018, you are pretty much guaranteed to have a great experience, although you should be aware that many are/ will be in the beta stage once released. So, give them some slack!
