This Ship Is Obsolete

To say I feel disappointed with the way our system perpetuates itself would be an understatement. I have come to the realization that the cancerous by products of our social and political culture will not be exhumed without complete fallout of our position in the world market and political system. Social causes that drive our nation into separate directions have blinded millions of compassionate Americans into readily accepting the chains…

Vinny Blessed – Music Train (CD)

An example of poor graphic design hits purchasers of this album right after they unwrap this album. The black text on lighter black backdrop means that individuals will not be able to see who produces the track unless they get about two inches away from the disc. This problem is lessened when individuals put the disc into the player, as the production is really clean for a smaller-market rapper. The…

Orange V (76 Proof)

There have been very few in the way of flavored spirits that I have actually enjoyed, and Orange V is one of the few that I could honestly see myself purchasing in the next few years. As individuals may be able to understand from the title, Orange V is an orange flavored vodka. Unlike many other flavored spirits, the alcohol percentage (38%) is pretty much the same compared to a…

Bleeding Kansas – Dead Under Décor (CD)

From “Can’t Help You There”, which cribs the guitar line from a seventies song (which is on the tip of my tongue but can’t come forth any farther), Bleeding Kansas shows that a return the basics should be a welcome thing. Most of the tracks on “Dead Under Décor” do not follow that ethos, and as such Bleeding Kansas’ music does not move beyond the new style of hardcore that…

VH1 “YOU OUGHTA KNOW” ARTIST ERIC HUTCHINSON EXTENDS U.S. TOUR WITH HEADLINING OUTING

With “Rock & Roll,” the first single from his Warner Bros. Records debut album, Sounds Like This, Eric Hutchinson was the only new artist to score a #1 single at U.S. AAA radio in 2008. Now “Rock & Roll” is a Top 10 hit on both Australia’s iTunes’ and national airplay charts and Hutchinson will be the opening act on Jason Mraz’s upcoming Australian tour. Upon his return to the…

The Bleeding Alarm – Beauty in Destruction (CD)

“This Girl Has A Gun” is the first song (not counting introductions) on The Bleeding Alarm’s “Beauty in Destruction”. The band comes to this track in an interesting way; the band vacillates between a harder rock style and the much more emotive rock style that ultimately takes the day by the end of the track. The band starts out their album in strong fashion, but there seems to be something…

Bleach – Astronomy (CD)

While most of the Christian music scene is often referred to as being relatively stale, having bands emulate the style of what is successful in the secular market instead of going their own way, Bleach simply doesn’t fit into that stereotype. Moving from punk to hard rock to introspective, Beatle-esque piano-rock in “Patience”, Bleach really is not happy driving themselves in a rut track in and track out. While “Patience”…

Pearl Jam – Ten [Deluxe Edition] (CD)

When Pearl Jam came out with Ten, their debut in 1992, it was obvious from the first couple of songs that the record was much more than just a musical footnote for the band and the grunge movement, but a classic album destined to be passed on to the next generation. Rolled out just as the media was starting to pick up on the Seattle sound and exploit it to…

The Sweet Vandals Set To Release “LoveLite” on Unique Records

When the spanish soul/funk band The Sweet Vandals started their mission nobody could possibly imagine that a soul connection between Madrid and Düsseldorf would emerge. The second album of the Sweet Vandals, who have naturally grown out of a mixture of classic Soul, Raw Funk and authentic groove, emphasizes and reflects the changes that the Soul and Funk genre underwent in that decade in Germany and Spain.
