It seems that there has been a dearth of interactive dance sims that do not only focus on pop or dance tracks. Country Dance and Country Dance 2, this year’s sequel, look to fix this problem. To ensure that the game’s different moves are captured correctly, one just has to move around the Wii Remote. The inclusion of the duet dancing mode is perhaps the best addition – the choreography is different for each player, creating (when individuals are doing everything correctly) a stunning site to behold. I feel that the different movements showcases some serious care on GameMill’s end, as moves hit the beats perfectly while making sense in the larger context of the song.

I believe that the quality of these move sets actually surpasses that found in Just Dance 2, for example. The ability to have up to four players in Country Dance 2 will ensure that a whole family can spend a night together, rather than playing on the internet or watching television. While the graphics are not too terribly important during a dance sim, I feel that GameMill has captured the party atmosphere of a bar or club well, providing players that may either be too young or too shy to make it to a night on the town.

GameMill has ensured that all of the most current country tracks are covered here. Artists tapped this time include Little Big Town, Montgomery Gentry, Eastin Corbin, and Billy Currington. All in all, there are over thirty songs which individuals can boogie to. This is a perfect holiday or birthday gift, and can be purchased at a price that is well below that of other dance sims that are currently on the market.
