Tim Williams’ “Novel” Added to mTVU Rotation

Tim Williams’ bookish, fantasy-filled video for lead radio track “Novel” has officially been added to rotation on MTV’s college-centric sister network mtvU. The video debuted on the voter-driven new video showcase “The Freshmen” October 15 beating out Soulsavers, Ghosthustler, Envy on the Coast and The Dream to land the top spot and rotation on more than 750 U.S. college campuses. The video directed by up-and-coming director Josh Horowitz and shot entirely with a still camera peaked was recently featured on Yahoo! and peaked as the #7 most watched video on Vh1.com.

Following several performances at the 2007 CMJ Music Marathon, Brooklyn-based Williams and his band will be pairing up with The Black Atlantic, featuring Geert Van Der Velde of The Black Atlantic [formerly of seminal hardcore band Shai Hulud], for an East Coast tour. On his recent travels, Williams stopped by Sirius’ Left of Center “My Old Kentucky Blog” show to record a live session [http://myoldkyhome.blogspot.com/2007/10/tim-williams-live-on-mokb-sirius-blog.html] and Daytrotter headquarters where he recorded a handful of songs to be featured on the site.

Williams’ wistful tunes, a perfect complement to the fall season change, have been turning heads from his adopted hometown Brooklyn and beyond. “Performing Songwriter” recently exclaimed: “a damn good record.”
