Street Drum Corps Extend Tour Past Projekt Revolution!

From John Bonham to Clyde Stubblefield to ?uestlove, the drum has always been the backbone of any successful group. Hell, go further back in time, when drums were at the center of any tribal ritual. It’s carnal. Primeval. A good song hits you in the head. A good beat nails you in the stomach. So in an era of squeaky-clean, technologically-enhanced and polished production, Los Angeles’ Street Drum Corps (SDC) are more important than ever.

Bobby Alt, Adam Alt and Frank Zummo are currently taking the nation by storm playing the mainstage of the Projekt Revolution Tour and then joining Linkin Park on stage for their headlining perfomance. And due to popular demand SDC will be adding a few dates on their own to keep the party going! And for all the behind the scenes mayhem, check out this Projekt Revolution Webisode HERE

“When (Linkin Park vocalist) Chester (Bennington) and I saw them, they had to be on the tour…these guys are little punks. I love their attitude.”- Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park

“As the stage lights went dim, two drummers from the Street Drum Corps marched into the darkness, their figures glowing neon under the black light. Taking positions on risers at the sides, each drummer grabbed a power tool and began grinding into steel drum barrels, sending sparks flying.”- Denver Post

” the trio of Los Angeles-based drummers – Bobby Alt, his younger brother Adam and Frank Zummo – uses traditional drum kits and found objects like pots and pans, garbage cans and fire extinguishers to put on a performance-art-style show that focuses all attention on percussion instruments.”- New York Post

“The performance was precise – vocals were perfect, drums were standout, and guitars sung.” – SKOPE Magazine

“It was refreshing to see a band that was once a street-performing act transform into a full-blown, ass-kicking punk/experimental phenomenon.”- Mish Mash Magazine

Street Drum Corps is wrapping their summer trek across America, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be hearing from them very soon, as the tour bus will soon be exchanged for a studio as the guys record their forthcoming album due out on Interscope in 2009.
