Sorcery is a title that looks to include the fantasy elements of RPGs with different action elements. What results in Sorcery is a title that takes the Playstation Move controller to its logical end, while providing players with an immersive environment and a rich story. I believe that the control scheme for Sorcery will even allow experienced players to be challenged by the title. To cast spells or do actions of greater consequence, one uses the Move controller.
I believe that Sorcery has more in common with titles like The Witcher and Fable in that players progress through a storyline.. While there is a certain bit of sandboxing that is available for players, the allure of the plot should be more enough to keep them focused on the game’s objectives. I believe the recasting of the RPG genre into something that is less turn-based is a good thing; Sorcery is a title that future titles should draw inspiration from. The amount of game time that one will have with Sorcery is substantial, with m ost players completing the game at about the 20 to 25 hour mark. This amount is further bolstered with the ability to gain trophies from treasure hunting.
The graphics seem to be better than in other motion-heavy titles. What results in Sorcery is a title that could easily become a franchise – for fans of Zelda or World of Warcraft, Sorcery should represent a must-have addition. Make it a point to pick up a copy as a gift or for a personal treat; it is simply one of the best titles that we have received for the Playstation 3 so far this year. Pick up a Move controller if you do not already have one, as it does require it.
