Seahaven will release their sophomore album Reverie Lagoon: Music For Escapism Only this coming spring via Run For Cover Records. The new full-length from the Torrance, CA based four-piece was engineered and mixed by Ben Brodin (Bight Eyes, Pete Yorn), and produced by Seahaven’s Kyle Soto at Mike Mogis’ ARC recording studio in Omaha, NE. In anticipation of the coming album, Seahaven and RFC are releasing a 7″ for the first single “Silhouette (Latin Skin)” on January 21st, 2014. The song debuted today as a stream via The Onion A/V Club, and the 7″ single, which features two b-sides, is available for pre-order now. In the New Year they take to the road for a cross-country tour along side Touché Amoré and MeWithoutYou. Upcoming tour dates below.

“Though Seahaven only has a couple releases under its belt, the young band displays a maturity that’s often missing from the bands with which it surrounds itself.” – The Onion A/V Club

Reverie Lagoon: Music For Escapism Only captures the dreamy, sprawling, airy southern California mood embodied by the band’s surroundings. The subtle combination of an upper midwestern indie rock aesthetic with so-cal punk and post-punk heritage is brought to life by the uplifting natural production and orchestral instrumentation found on the album. Warm, beach-y reverb blankets equally contemplative and carefree sounding pop that ebbs and flows with rising strings and deft percussion, making for Seahaven’s most interesting and engaging songs yet.

Stay tuned for release date and other full-length details to follow in the coming weeks.
