Destiny is a title that pushes immersion at all costs; the storyline that players are provided with stands as bleak opposition to the pristine future as described by Star Trek. The game is broken off into Titan, Huntr, and Warlock classes, granting players the ability to straddle both shooter and RPG titles. The different races and environments that players will encounter further increases the replay value; there is a sort of wanderlust that will ensure players seek out every possible twist and turn.
While Halo has been a major franchise for much of modern gaming, Destiny builds off of the original framework established by Bungie and creates a title that provides players with extreme customization options. The multiplayer modes available ensure that the title has legs throughout the end of 2014 and into 2015. The lighting technologies adopted for Destiny provide a sense of realism to this otherworldly environment, while character differentiation and skills trees make the overall playing experience wholly different each time a player re-rolls a new character. The difficulty curve is one of the smartest I have seen; it takes virtually no skill to play the tile, but there are additional maps (strike maps) that require that players are able to work together in a cohesive unit with the rest of their team. The strike maps will appease even the most long-term raiders of MMORPGs; the final bosses that individuals encounter when they play Destiny have a tremendous amount of life and completely different strategies required to ensure survival.
