On Friday and Saturday, June 13-14, The Kitchen in New York City presents a live multimedia concert featuring a complete performance of ONEIDA’s 2005 album, “The Wedding”. Oneida will be backed by a string quintet under the direction of Brian Coughlin, who created the arrangements for the original recording, along with celebrated pianist Emily Manzo. In this evening, conceived for The Kitchen and directed by Nick Hallett, “The Wedding” is re-envisioned within the tradition of the song cycle as an abstract narrative. Multimedia art direction is provided by Mighty Robot A/V Squad, a longtime provider of Oneida’s lightshow.  The work will be presented as a unique hybrid of multimedia concert and non-didactic rock opera.
