Anna Rose who is an official member of Communion (a live music promotion team from the U.K. that was formed by Mumford & Sons keyboardist Ben Lovett, producer Ian Grimble and Kevin Jones) most recently premiered her video for title track “Behold a Pale Horse” exclusively through Nylon Magazine. The breathtaking video for was directed by Jennifer Tzar and filmed in Snowdonia, Wales.
Prior to her upcoming residency at Rockwood Music Hall in New York (5/7 @ 8pm, 5/21 @ 9pm), Anna gave a stellar performance at this year’s Canadian Music Week. Shaw Connect called her “One To Watch” alongside Heart, Rihanna, Stars and many more. T Mak World had this to say of her 2013 CMW performance, “Clearly influenced by the classic rock greats like Zeppelin, Hendrix and Fleetwood Mac – Rose belted out vocals that would put most other female vocalists to shame at CMW. She has power and vocal range that is a perfect fit to the smoldering riffs that her band provided. Excellent set that included a Hendrix cover, this one really stood out at CMW.”
Anna, respected singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist has finished recording her sophomore album Behold a Pale Horse with the fantastic Kevin Salem (Rachel Yamagata, Lenka). This album is the follow up to her phenomenal 2010 debut Nomad. Citing influences such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, and calling celebrated guitarist Arlen Roth her mentor, Anna proves that she comes from a place very different than the typical definition of female singer-songwriter. She is a true child of rock and roll, a self-taught musician who is one of today’s most dynamic performers.
