The story of Brittany Johnson, known online as LovelyPeaches, is often cited as one of the most disturbing examples of “clout chasing” and tiktok drama in the social media era. While many creators use shock humor to find an audience, Johnson’s trajectory involved a series of escalations that eventually crossed from internet infamy into criminal reality.
The Rise of “Burnin’ n’ Itchin'” (2019)
Brittany Johnson first gained widespread notoriety in 2019, primarily through TikTok and Instagram. Her “breakthrough” moment came with the viral success of her song “Burnin’ n’ Itchin’.” The track was intentionally grotesque, featuring explicit lyrics about contracting and living with various STDs. Its success was fueled by the “ironic” nature of TikTok trends; thousands of users created videos using the sound, often to express mock disgust or as part of “disturbing fact” compilations. This era established her persona as a “shock queen”—someone willing to say or do anything, no matter how repellent, to keep her name in the algorithm.
One of the most infamous instances involved a video where she claimed to have purposely exposed a client to various diseases. In the footage, she appeared to be providing a service to an individual—often described by viewers as a massage or hair appointment—only to turn to the camera and boast about her health status. She explicitly stated that she had multiple STDs, suggesting that she was actively and knowingly transmitting them to her “client.”
A Cycle of Escalation
Following her initial brush with fame, Johnson’s content became increasingly alarming. Over the next few years, she was banned from dozens of platforms, only to return with new accounts. Her “stunts” shifted from gross-out humor (such as eating bodily fluids on camera) to targeted harassment and dangerous threats.
- Threats Against Public Figures: She notably targeted high-profile minors, including Charli D’Amelio, making violent and sexual threats that led to widespread condemnation and calls for permanent deplatforming.
- Fabricated Crimes: On several occasions, she claimed to have harmed her infant daughter, Cora, or to have sold her. While investigations eventually revealed that the child was safe in the custody of grandparents, the use of child abuse as a “hook” for views marked a dark turning point in her online presence.
The 2021 Livestream and Arrest
The most significant consequence of her behavior occurred in January 2021. During an Instagram Live session, Johnson was seen mistreating her Jack Russell Terrier. Viewers reported seeing her spray perfume in the dog’s eyes and pick the animal up by its neck. She also made chilling claims on the stream that she had broken the dog’s legs and intended to kill it.
Unlike her previous claims, which were often dismissed as “trolling,” the visual evidence of animal cruelty prompted immediate action:
- Police Intervention: DeKalb County Police in Georgia received a surge of 911 calls from concerned viewers from this tiktok drama.
- Arrest: On January 22, 2021, Johnson was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals.
- Custody of the Pet: She voluntarily signed over custody of the dog to animal services. During her police interrogation, she reportedly admitted that she made the abusive statements specifically “to gain more followers.”
