For those of us living in Arkansas, Bentonville is a sterling example of business and commerce. I personally was there for an industry meeting, and as a single parent, took my child along. While there are a number of great dining and service-based businesses dotting the city’s landscape, I was a bit worried before the trip about what activities my daughter and I could get into. We settled on going to the Scott Family Amazeum (1009 Museum Way Bentonville, AR 72712). The day that my business concluded, we popped on over and were pleasantly surprised at how much parking was available (well, I was excited).

The Scott Family Amazeum has a number of distinct attractions for the toddler all the way up to the older kid age bracket. Whether it be a water feature allowing kids to play around and get soaked even well into the winter or a truck-packing simulator, there is a little bit of something for everybody. Another section we kept coming back to was the Wal-Mart Market, where children can pretend to be cashiers, baggers, and shoppers. The size of this installation is larger than similar “market” parts of other children’s museums, mimicking the real thing quite well. For those that are musically-inclined, there is a whole part of the Amazeum that will tickle their fancy. For families that feel couped up (the Scott Family Amazeum can become packed as the day continues on), there is an outdoor section with climbing bits as well as another water feature.

Another high-water mark of this children’s museum had to be “The Cave”, a darkened piece that will have kids climbing and playing around in low lights. For those that like playing house, the homestead cabin and farm will have them rough it out in a mock turn of the century abode. The expansiveness of Scott Family Amazeum ensures that there will be something for everyone to do even if the museum is nearly at capacity. I personally appreciated this roomy atmosphere as similar places can tend to run a little on the cramped side.

Parents should expect to take around 2 hours at the Amazeum and that is really more based on their level of interest than the kiddos. If we didn’t have to go back home the same day, I believe we would have naturally left at about the 3-hour mark. Admission to the Scott Family Amazeum runs $17/head (as of January 2026) for children and adults with those under 2 admitted for free.

The Scott Family Amazeum is open 10-5 all weekdays except for Tuesday. Saturdays have the same hours, while Sundays has the attraction open from 1-5pm. Make sure to visit their main website and their social media profiles for special events; at the type we wrote this piece, the Scott Family Amazeum has an adult night as well as a youth maker market coming up. This is definitely one of the best family-based attractions that northern Arkansas has to offer.
