When We Two Parted starts off Liz Luceris’ new EP, Liz Luceris – Hommage à Byron, immediately bringing listeners in with a delicate set of vocals. These vocals are paired nicely with strings, something that will continue onward with the next few tracks, I Speak Not and So We’ll Go No More A Roving. So We’ll Go No More A Roving is a more deliberate, classical-infused composition that is spiced up with hints of modern vocal genres. Each note here possesses considerable depth, playing well in context with what follows forth. I Speak Not has rich, emotional instrumentation that calls forth a robust city-scape replete with armed forces and traders. There’s a lot of mid-2000s Real Music influence that can be gleaned here.
