At the beginning of this installation, attendees will visit a grocery store that seems a bit off when one looks at the shelves. Hidden entries to multiverses are present throughout a number of the areas, with a surprising diversity of artistic styles and interactive exhibits demarcating each. Whether it be letters, a computer, or numerous experimentation rooms, there are countless permutations one can enjoy during their time at Omega Mart. I found myself taking four hours to connect the narrative that is fed to visitors one room at a time.
For those adult-age attendees that wish to further immerse themselves into everything the portals have to offer, Omega Mart has a bar contained within. I find that Meow Wolf has done a tremendous job with Omega Mart and their other installations to provide something for everyone, no matter how old that they may be. Meow Wolf offers a mobile app to further provide information and keep attendees up to speed – I’d recommend having it up to date by the time you make your visit for a way to provide context for the overall experience as well as acting as a memento of your time there. Another must during your time at Omega Mart is picking up the Access Card ($3?), which gives one yet another story to unravel – there are a number of different scanners studded throughout the place that allow you to get a bit of an idea of how the workers would have felt. This links up quite well with the grungy backroom one will encounter. As someone that has previously worked at a store like Omega Mart, the dirtiness, noise, and overall sketch feel of the room is replicated well.

The level of depth achieved here will appease anyone that appreciates a good mystery. I particularly liked how Omega Mart’s gift shop was incorporated into the experience. Instead of being a stand-alone part a la Dallas or Houston’s Meow Wolf, items for sale are included alongside the rest of the stocked store.
This is a must-visit for anyone that’s going to Vegas; carve out 3-4 hours for a proper trip. Make sure you’ve went and gotten a ticket for the time frame you intend to go. In our experience, having everything all ready to go before you make it to the attraction makes the process much easier, especially when you have people in your party that might be a little bit more on the impatient side. In a more pragmatic way, Omega Mart ends up being a fantastic way to cool down during the Nevada summer.
