We were lucky to receive some of the Orange Creamsicle flavor of Met-Rx’s latest protein bar, NOS Pumped. Each bar contains 220 calories (45 of which come from fat), 5 grams of fat (7% RDV), 30 grams of carbohydrates, and 13 grams of protein (26% RDV). The balanced nature of the Pumped Energy Bar’s macronutrients ensures that the boost that the bar provides will be both long-lasting and functional. The inclusion of caffeine and L-Arginine to the mix allows individuals to either have the energy that they need for a long training session or the push necessary to stay active and motivated after these sessions.
Met-Rx has utilized a blend of different protein types – whey crisps, whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate) to deal with both long and short-term needs of athletes. The 85 milligrams of caffeine is around what a cup of coffee will provide, providing a non-jittery type of energy. This level of caffeine is also moderate enough to allow individuals to take a pre-workout or stimulant-based fat burner soon after. The taste of the Orange Creamsicle flavoring (sugar, orange peel, and citric acid) melds nicely with the stellar mouthfeel of the NOS Pumped Energy bar. I feel that this effort is a perfect afternoon pick me up or a good stand-in when it is not feasible or sensible to get a full meal.
The NOS Pumped Energy Bar comes in two flavors – Orange Creamsicle and Chocolate Mixed Berry. Individuals that wish to purchase the bar can do so on Metrx.com, licensed online retailers, and a whole slew of brick and mortar stores. Check the Met-Rx website for further information about their product line and the latest in news.
