Hollywood FLOSS is back with the video for “So Much To Say,” a song that features crooner Brian Angel and serves as a recent single from his latest album, One Fan At A Time. The video, directed by Rob Jay and edited by Justin Morrow, is a dedication to his love for hip hop, complete with graffiti in the back drop and mimes acting out FLOSS’ lyrics throughout. “The ‘So…
I believe that Blackwater has a tremendously interesting subject. Players are placed into a role as a member of the titular organization, a private company that works to provide services to whomever they enter into a contract with. Players have to ensure that democracy is brought to the inhabitants of Harri, a fictional country. However, there are a tremendous amount of forces that wish to continue the status quo. This…
Innistrad is the first Magic: The Gathering expansion that I have played since Tempest (1997). The additional features and darker feel to the set are the reason that I have entered back into the fold. For those players that have been away from the game for so long, there is little different from the fundamental game. Sure, there may be terms that I was not immediately familiar with, but the…

Shake It Like A Hillbilly is the first track on Ringo Manor, and it immediately showcases Hillbilly Vegas as an act that can touch upon the work of Every Mother’s Nightmare and Bon Jovi, while still having a little bit of a country twang. What results during Ringo Manor is an album that is catchy and musically sound. The energy generated during Shake It Like A Hillbilly does not diminish…
Mr. Bongo came out with a DVD version of Casanova ’70 (1965) for foreign audiences last year. While that version was solid enough, I feel that Lorber has really stepped their game up with this Blu-Ray release. This means that there is an absolutely lush restoration for this Mario Monicelli (Toto and the Women, Big Deal on Madonna Street) film. The flick is absolutely out there, focusing on Andrea (Mastroianni)…
The amount of work that Funimation has done in making these Dragonball Z episodes into a sharp and vibrant release is absolutely amazing. The collection comprises 40 episodes of the show, with full story arcs from episodes 251 to 291. This set comprises two distinct story arcs – the Kid Buu Saga and the Fusion Saga, while containing enough ancillary twists and turns during these stories to keep viewers at…
There are new supplement companies comping out every month. However, a great many of these are not in it for the long haul. I feel that Swole Sports Nutrition will be around for years, if not decades, to come. This is because they have created a set of products that provide individuals with what they need to achieve the best and most productive workouts, all while placing them at a…
MiMOSA is taking North America by storm, selling out major venues all over the country such as Royale in Boston, Webster Hall in New York City, and House of Blues in Chicago. He’s continuing his conquest through the winter, with shows in Austin, Orange County, Charleston, Knoxville, and St. Louis, just to name a few. He will also be ringing in the new year in Los Angeles at Together As…
I was not expecting The Sharp Ease to come up with such a retro-punk track to open up “Going Modern”, using a Ramones-like song structure to push through their desires. Tracks spin through before one can honestly get a grasp on The Sharp Ease, but with tracks like “I Demand”, a sort of disco-like guitar line permeates the track, while Paloma‘s vocals achieve a more energetic, Debbie Harry-esque style. Each…
While Plumb is busy preparing her 2012 release Faster Than A Bullet she has still found time to not only record 2 Christmas songs – she’s giving them away in The FAN-Tastic Christmas Giveaway. Fans who “like” the Plumb Facebook page are able to download the two songs free by clicking the “FAN-Tastic Christmas” link on the page. Once they have the songs, fans can also enter the giveaway by…
There have been a tremendous amount of different wrestling games for the different handheld consoles, and pretty much without fail, they have been sad recreations of the games for the current generation. However, I feel that THQ has outdone themselves and has made a handheld console wrestling title that contains the same high amount of energy of both wrestling and the PS3 / Xbox 360 versions of the title, all…
“Holy Water” is a lighter version of the punkabilly that acts like Tiger Army and Nekromantix have been perfecting over the last decade or so. However, Shark Soup seem to be influenced by a larger set of bands than either of the two aforementioned acts, which means that the album is exponentially more interesting than anything put out by either act. “One Eyed Kat” shows that diversity of interests, as…
Electronic-based indie rock, Sharks and Minnows start off “The Cost of Living” with the electronically influenced pop gem “Sunday Driver”. Not pigeonholing themselves into one specific genre of music, different tracks continue the thread of strong lyrics and pop-influenced hooks with “Slow Learner”. A tad quieter than The Weakerthans, a little more musically apt than Weezer, and a google less annoying that Matthew Sweet, Sharks and Minnows play the most…
Who are you? Is there any significance to your stage name? The name “Kodomo” is the Japanese word for “Child”, my surname. It was a nickname I had as a kid, having grown up in Japan. Around 2000, I started doing remixes for bands and used Kodomo as my moniker. When I finally got around to working on my own album I realized I needed a name. After much contemplating…
The band seems to be so uncollected and random that I felt sort of odd getting into Shark Pants as much as I did. Its almost as if Frank Zappa fronted The Offspring. Using guitar riffs that are as straight-forward as the ones from any of the retro-rock bands (The White Stripes) and a yelped-out set of vocals, Shark Pants are definitely a unique enough band to merit being on…
Shallow Water Grave play a brand of metal that is influenced both by Slayer and Helloween. To say that the opening salvo of “Lay In Wait” is confusing is to hit the nail on the head. There are just so many things that are happening during this first track that individuals just do not know where to go or what to listen to. Luckily, this confusion is much less during…
Having already ignited massive audiences in the U.K. with their raucous live shows, London-based dubstep-influenced rock band Modestep will perform in the U.S. for the first time ever, playing three West coast cities — San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles — in December. Please see below for all dates. “Since we started Modestep over two years ago, the majority of our fans have come from the U.S.,” says the…
I know that Revelation released “A Comprehensive Retrospective” a year or two ago, but these re-releases of Shai Hulud discs contribute a lot more to the corpus of the band than does a “everything’s here”, 24 track version of the band’s history. I’m assuming what Revelation is doing here with these discs is re-releasing what was an EP (such as “A Profound Hatred of Man”) and trying to find any…
Unlike “A Profound Hatred of Man”, “Hearts Once Nourished” only has its original nine tracks. Why the other disc had a number of covers and this one does is beyond me, but the band is able to make a good thing even with this smaller amount of tracks. The disc is much longer per track than is “A Profound Hatred of Man”, so that may be the case. This was…
