Smirnoff Cocktails: Grand Cosmopolitan (30 Proof)

We here at NeuFutur HQ received a bottle of the “Grand Cosmopolitan” cocktail a few weeks back, and just finally had a chance to go and give it the coverage that it rightfully deserves. For those individuals that have no clue what a Cosmopolitan actually is, it blends together vodka, Grand Marnier, and cranberry juice (some other iterations include lime juice). This 30 proof drink really shines when it is…

Christine Martucci Band – I’m All In (CD)

Christine Martucci sounds a lot like other pop-rock singers of an earlier era, with comparisons that can be made to individuals like Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge. The hard edge of songs like “Too Late” are good, as they give Martucci a different sound than the aforementioned artists. “Too Late” is a track that can make it onto pop stations without anything in the way of changes. The slower tempo…

Tequila Cazadores (Anejo)

Tequila Cazadores is Bacardi’s brand of tequila, although individuals would not know that unless they looked up the brand. The spirit itself is made straight from the Blue Agave; the Anejo here approaches a darkness that parallels that of many whiskeys on the market. This is due to the fact that it has been aged in oak for at least 12 months before it makes its way into the bottle.…

Obsession: An Erotic Tale (Book)

Gloria Vanderbilt has had a tremendous life, moving through all of the most elite circles in New York City, birthing a tremendous popular news force (Andersen Cooper) and at 85, has not slowed in the slightest. Obsession: An Erotic Tale showcases an author that does not conform to what most individuals would associate with those in the older generation, pushing hardcore sexuality into a critically appreciable position.

Reaper: Season Two (DVD)

The show Reaper came along at just the right time. With Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel both dead and gone, there was definitely a void to be filled with a demon-centered goofy fantasy/comedy series.

Chris Murray – Raw (CD)

To be honest, this CD is not what I expect to be hearing from Asian Man Records. This album was recorded on a walkman, and still really is full of bouncy reggae music that brings me back to an era in which I was not even born in. “Switchblade to Soul” has virtually no connection to the current, sounding as if it was dug out of the vaults at some…

Choose To Find – S/T (CD)

“The Sacred Feminine” starts out with a piano that is emotional in its output, but does not seem to give individuals much of an idea what Choose to Find ultimately sounds like. Will the band come into a more indie approach, a classical approach, or something resembling the feminist-pop of individuals like Dar Williams, Tori Amos, and Ani DiFranco. The instrumentation continues without any vocal cues, but by the time…

Ralphie May – Austin-tatious (DVD)

Ralphie May, as viewers may recall, was associated with the first season of Last Comic Standing. I would contend that out of all the contestants from all of the years of the show (which was just cancelled), that Ralphie May has enjoyed the most success. In my opinion, I would have to say that Ralphie May comes with the freshest act and exhibits the most raw comedic potential. “Austin-tatious” showcases…

!!! – Louden Up Now (CD)

After reading so much laudatory praise about this band, I was quite amazed to hear that they were just another dance act that seemed ultimately influenced by bands like Apell, Depeche Mode, Orbital, and Kraftwerk. I really was not sure what to expect from the band, but “Louden Up Now” attacks every possible corner of the dance phenomenon, instead of driving itself into a rut like Fluke’s “Puppy”. Instead of…
