Eric Hutchinson has been invited to open for Kelly Clarkson on her upcoming fall tour. The Warner Bros. Records recording artist, who played a series of summer shows with Clarkson, will support Ms. Clarkson on 30+ dates (see below for itinerary).

“Ok, It’s Alright With Me,” the second single from Hutchinson’s full-length debut, Sounds Like This, is currently charting at Hot AC radio and was a Top 5 hit at the Triple A Radio format. In October, Screen Vision will include a two-minute segment of the video for “Ok, It’s Alright With Me” in its content packages, which run before the movie previews in Screen Vision’s 6,660 U.S. theaters. Meanwhile, his latest single, “Oh!,” had an explosive first week at Triple A radio, where it was Most Added.

Hutchinson was the only new artist to score a No. 1 single at the Triple A format in 2008. “Rock & Roll,” his first single, topped the Triple A radio chart last December and subsequently hit No. 1 at Pop Radio in Australia, New Zealand and Norway, too. Sounds Like This bowed at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart in September 2007 and re-entered the same chart’s Top 10 earlier this month. Originally self-released, Sounds Like This is the highest-charting album ever by an unsigned act on iTunes.

Eric has toured non-stop for the past two years, mixing supporting stints for artists such as Jason Mraz, One Republic, O.A.R., Jack’s Mannequin and Clarkson with headlining shows. Over the summer, Hutchinson played to sold-out crowds in Denver, Des Moines, Louisville, Nashville and numerous other markets and performed on “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” You can check out other highlights here:

Praised by The Washington Post (“undeniably charismatic”), Boston Globe (“soulful”), popmatters.com (“refreshingly inventive”) USA Today (“a knack for hooks and melody”), Hutchinson has also appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Bonnie Hunt Show” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” He was named as a VH1 “You Oughta Know” Artist, “One To Watch” (MSN), “About to Pop” (AOL) and a Yahoo! “Who’s Next” artist.
