RAINBOW ARABIA get HARD MIX rework

Fresh off the release of their stellar debut full-length on Kompakt “Boys and Diamonds”, the LA polypop duo Rainbow Arabia take to the road to SXSW along with remaining dates with tourmate, Afro-futurist rapper Spoek Mathambo. North Carolina producer Hard Mix just released his reworking the album’s first single “Without You” in which Pitchfork Media observes “The sturdy pop groove of the original has been given a lighter touch here, with Smith grabbing a vocal loop, pitch-shifting it up a notch, and bending it around a metronomic groove with a polished finish that’s in marked contrast to the rougher edges of the track it’s based upon.” The original weaves Tiffany Preston’s yearning synth-pop learnt vocals into cascading conga lines and sawtooth bass drive, all with of faded sense of 80s exuberance. Available on 7″, the b-side “Without You (Version)” aims for anthemic heights with a soaring intro and sleek re-arrangement, you can listen to it at their Soundcloud.
