Virginia troubadour Mike Aiken’s newest video, “Dance With The Wind,” premieres worldwide today on THE BOOT. Aiken was inspired to write the song when a friend asked him, “what makes a love affair last?” Mike’s 20th wedding anniversary certainly played a part in his ability to answer that question. “This one is, without a doubt, for my wife Amy,” he admits. Aiken and co-writer Tim Buppert (“She’s Sure Taking It Well,” “Another Nine Minutes”) invoked romance by framing the touching and heartfelt lyrics around a waltz tempo. “I don’t think anything is more romantic than three-quarter time,” adds Aiken. “It just takes you back to a simpler period.” To ensure that the song’s feeling translated to video, Mike’s crew dug deep and unearthed incredible archival footage of Norfolk, Virginia’s Ocean View Amusement Park that is featured in the song.
Beachside performance vignettes are interspersed with vibrant images of carousels, carnival rides and happy couples to create a unique and visually-resonating portrait. “This is the best anniversary gift ever,” blushes Amy Aiken. “I’m a lucky girl. Our life is a dance that never ends.”
