With the arrival of UK’s KINGSLAND ROAD and their upcoming debut release WE ARE THE YOUNG on May 5, 2015 via Radikal Records, the trail to mainstream pop is ready to be set ablaze again. Exporting their brand of fun, upbeat indie-pop to the US by way of British phenom-building TV show X Factor (which bore Matt Cardle, Leona Lewis, Will Young, Janet Devlin, and, of course, One Direction), these four strapping lads earned early support and massive numbers of fans when they burst on the small screen in 2013. Calling them a “ready-made hit boy band”, Gary Barlow (of Take That fame) who knows a thing or two about boy bands, mentored them into the band and brought them to UK acclaim. In support of the album’s release, Kingsland Road will be embarking on their very first US tour kicking off on the East Coast on May 12th, hitting New England and the Southeast down to Jacksonville, FL (tour dates below).

After a shocking early exit from the show, the lads decided to pick themselves up and do it on their own, spending the next six months gigging, touring and putting all of their earnings into studio time and self-funding their own label. Co-writing all the tracks, Kingsland Road worked with some of the best writers and producers in the industry, including Ollie Green, Lewis Mokler (One Direction), Jason Perry (McFly), Jamie Sellers (The Wanted) and Cam Blackwood (George Ezra). The result, We Are the Young is an album full of high energy, exuberant tracks that are as catchy as they are fun. From the anthemic opening title track, “We Are the Young” to the R&B-inflected “Misbehave” to the soaring ballad “Heaven Knows”, the album kicks off in high gear and maintains its stamina without losing its creative and melodic edge. The first single “Dirty Dancer” is an infectious pop track inspired by fellow X Factor alums (and winners of eighth season of the series in 2011) Little Mix after a fun night dancing in London.

With fans in high places (aside from mentor Gary Barlow, both Ellie Goulding and James Corden are among their celebrity fans), Kingsland Road are already on a quick trajectory up. If the perfect pop of their debut We Are The Young is any indication, not only is their trail blazing, it’s leading them down the road to stardom.

Kingsland Road is Matt Cahill, Joe Conaboy, JJ Thompson and Josh Zaré. Their debut We Are The Young will be released on May 5, 2015 via Radikal Records.
