Denitza Todorova a.k.a D E N A, a Berlin-based songwriter and vocalist hailing from Bulgaria first made waves after going viral on YouTube with the video clip for track “Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools”. Newly signed to Kitsuné, D E N A will officially release “Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools” on January 28 with five remixes to round out the package.
Influenced by 90’s pop/hip-hop and old school RnB as well as her Balkan roots, D E N A hits on M.I.A and Azealia Banks as well as citing the two as influences. Part of Berlin’s bustling creative scene, she’s toured Europe supporting the likes of Das Racist & Icona Pop. D E N A has been praised internationally for her unique and fresh falvor and her self-produced and observant-yet-positive lyrical style. Look out for more in 2013.
