Attica! Attica! is the new project for Marathon / De La Hoya front man Aaron Scott. Dead Skin / Dried Blood is a lot of what you’d expect: Scott’s amazing vocal abilities, captivating melodies and lyrically intense journeysÂ…but he ups the ante big time with gorgeous, fascinating soundscapes and a rich tapestry of songs borrowing from punk to Americana to rock and everything in between.
Brooklyn duo Laura Fidler and Bill Manning are The New Dress. Their debut Where Are Failures Are is not quite punk, not exactly folk and maybe not even folk-punkÂ…but somehow it’s all three. Make sense? Whatever the case, itÂ’s amazing how two voices and one electric guitar manage to be so endearing and irresistible.
